"Blister in the Sun" is a song by American rock band Violent Femmes, originally released on their self-titled debut album. In , it became the first English-language track to ever be allowed on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, the Republic of Ireland Irish-language radio station, after having been selected by listeners for the event.

Violent Femmes is the debut album by Violent recorded in July , the album was released by Slash Records on vinyl and on cassette in April , and on CD in , with two extra tracks, "Ugly" and "Gimme the Car".. In , Rhino Records remastered the album, filled out the disc's length with demos and added another disc of live tracks and a radio interview for a 20th.
