Highlights of this album is their signature tune Kick Out The Jams uncensored with the expletive being more comical than offensive, Motor City Is Burning a high energy blues ballad about the Detroit riots which were one year previous, Starship a high energy psychedelic guitar tour de force/5().

Kick Out The Jams is the explosive debut album from the proto-punk quintet MC5, recorded live over two nights at Detroit's Grande Ballroom by famed producer/engineer Bruce Botnick. Recording a debut album live was unheard of at the time, but MC5 and as it turns out the music world alike, felt it was the best representation of what the band was truly about.

 · A Newbury Comics exclusive, limited to copies. Black inside clear vinyl. Recorded "live" at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit With uncensored "Motherfucker"-intro starting Kick Out The Jams.

This seminal proto-punk set was released 50 years ago this month, yet its anti-establishment fury remains just as relevant – it's time again to KICK OUT THE JAMS. A Newbury Comics exclusive color vinyl MC5 frontman Rob Tyner recalled in the liner notes to KICK OUT THE JAMS, “We were considered killer, righteous, high energy dudes who could pitch a whang dang doodle all night long.”.
